Somewhere between King of Vert and king of staring at the ceiling at 3 a.m., things went terribly wrong.
The 2-Sad “King of Hurt” Tee puts a miserable spin on the unmistakable neon aesthetic of 2-Hip BMX and the late-’80s freestyle scene. The original’s chaotic blocks of hot pink, green, black and white have been rearranged into a decidedly less triumphant 2-Sad—because not everybody gets to be King of Vert. Some of us are just King of Hurt.
It’s a loving parody of an era when BMX riders wore Vision Street Wear, launched themselves several feet above plywood ramps, and apparently possessed both healthier knees and considerably less concern about their own mortality.
Printed on a heavyweight, garment-dyed Comfort Colors tee for that soft, broken-in feel without having to actually own the shirt since 1988.
